The Walk

If ever you are passing on the A68 between Jedburgh and Otterburn, then you must take an hour or so to visit this spectacular little trail. The Hindhope Linn trail can be found at the top end of Forest Drive. There is so much to do in this area. Close to Otterburn, there is the Brigantium Archaeological Project, Kielder Forest Drive and the Pennine Way.

The Hindhope Linn trail takes you through the woods and around the Blakehope Burn. Descend into the beautiful gorge and get close to the Blakehope Burn waterfall. The trail is marked by orange way markers. Though short, the trail does have some fairly steep inclines that are made easier by being stepped. Realistically, the trail can only be completed on foot.
Park at the Forest Drive picnic area and walk up the forestry commission road. You will soon come to the orange way marker on your right. If you fancy a longer trek there is the Three Kings trail of about 4Km (2.5 miles) or try part of the Pennine Way.

Part of the trail. I did not include pictures of the waterfall so as not to spoil the best part.
